Pourtant, un acc\u00e8s fiable et abordable au CO\u2082 devient de plus en plus difficile \u00e0 garantir. Les unit\u00e9s de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration fonctionnent moins d'heures, les approvisionnements industriels en CO\u2082 sont sous pression, et le co\u00fbt du CO\u2082 liquide livr\u00e9 ne cesse d'augmenter. Pour un groupe de producteurs de tomates \u00e0 Sirjansland, dans la province n\u00e9erlandaise de Z\u00e9lande, la solution a \u00e9t\u00e9 de cesser totalement de d\u00e9pendre d'un approvisionnement ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le r\u00e9sultat, d\u00e9sormais op\u00e9rationnel depuis plus de six ans, est l'une des installations commerciales de technologie de capture de CO\u2082 Galloxol\u00ae les plus p\u00e9rennes \u2014 et une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour les producteurs de toute l'Europe et d'ailleurs qui se posent la m\u00eame question : pouvons-nous produire notre propre CO\u2082, sur site, \u00e0 partir de notre infrastructure \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique existante ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Captage du CO\u2082 sur une chaudi\u00e8re \u00e0 biomasse : comment le DES est n\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'histoire commence par la chaleur, et non par le CO\u2082. En 2017, Marc Groenewegen de South West Growers et plusieurs autres producteurs ont fond\u00e9 Duurzame Energie Sirjansland (DES) avec un objectif simple : r\u00e9duire la d\u00e9pendance au gaz naturel en produisant de la chaleur \u00e0 partir de biomasse. La capture du CO\u2082 est devenue une priorit\u00e9 par la suite, lorsqu'il est apparu clairement que les gaz de combustion de la centrale biomasse constituaient une source pr\u00e9cieuse et largement inexploit\u00e9e de CO\u2082 biog\u00e9nique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour la technologie de capture, le groupe a s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 un syst\u00e8me d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par Frames \u2014 aujourd'hui repris par Green Gas &amp; Liquids \u2014 qui avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait ses preuves dans des applications agroalimentaires. L'installation DES a ouvert en juin 2019. Aujourd'hui, le CO\u2082 captur\u00e9 est stock\u00e9 dans des cuves tampon sur site et dos\u00e9 dans la serre pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment au moment et dans la quantit\u00e9 requise par la culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trois avantages que les cultivateurs constatent dans la pratique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apr\u00e8s des ann\u00e9es d'exploitation, Marc sait parfaitement ce qui distingue le CO\u2082 capt\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de biomasse des autres solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CO\u2082 plus propre, dosage plus s\u00fbr.<\/strong> Les donn\u00e9es de surveillance d'un capteur de qualit\u00e9 de l'air interne montrent syst\u00e9matiquement des concentrations plus faibles de NOx et d'\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne avec le CO\u2082 issu de DES par rapport au CO\u2082 provenant de la cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Pour les jeunes plantes en particulier \u2014 qui sont sensibles aux taux \u00e9lev\u00e9s de NOx \u2014 cela a son importance. Ce profil plus propre permet au producteur d'appliquer des concentrations de CO\u2082 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es en toute confiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pr\u00e9cision et flexibilit\u00e9.<\/strong> Une unit\u00e9 de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration produit du CO\u2082 comme sous-produit de la production d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 : elle fonctionne ou elle ne fonctionne pas. Le syst\u00e8me DES fonctionne sur une base modulante, permettant de doser le CO\u2082 en r\u00e9ponse directe \u00e0 l'intensit\u00e9 lumineuse, \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature et au d\u00e9ficit de pression de vapeur. South West Growers a optimis\u00e9 cette logique en collaboration avec son fournisseur d'ordinateurs climatiques, et poursuit d\u00e9sormais le doser m\u00eame \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es, \u00e0 condition que les param\u00e8tres d'humidit\u00e9 le permettent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Co\u00fbt inf\u00e9rieur.<\/strong> L'\u00e9conomie est simple. Le CO\u2082 biog\u00e9nique sur site est nettement moins cher que le CO\u2082 liquide livr\u00e9 par camion-citerne \u2014 un co\u00fbt que Marc a trouv\u00e9 frappant lors de sa premi\u00e8re visite sur le site de Lepelstraat, qui d\u00e9pendait alors de livraisons par camion-citerne. \u00c0 mesure que le CO\u2082 industriel se fait plus rare et plus cher, l'argument financier en faveur du captage sur site se renforce encore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enrichissement en CO\u2082 et rendement : les preuves s\u2019accumulent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La conviction de Marc quant \u00e0 l'impact du CO\u2082 sur le rendimiento des cultures est fond\u00e9e sur des donn\u00e9es, et non sur l'intuition. Les donn\u00e9es des capteurs de biomasse du syst\u00e8me Trutina de Gremon Systems ont montr\u00e9 une augmentation plus forte et plus rapide de la mati\u00e8re s\u00e8che et de l'accumulation de biomasse \u00e0 Sirjansland par rapport aux pairs \u00e9talonn\u00e9s. Des visites internationales ont renforc\u00e9 cette impression : en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, les producteurs qui op\u00e9raient auparavant avec des taux de CO\u2082 inf\u00e9rieurs aux concentrations ambiantes ext\u00e9rieures ont enregistr\u00e9 la plus forte am\u00e9lioration de rendement individuelle simplement en portant le CO\u2082 aux niveaux ext\u00e9rieurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La conclusion est simple : ramener le CO\u2082 aux concentrations ambiantes \u2014 et les d\u00e9passer \u2014 est l'une des interventions les plus rentables en culture prot\u00e9g\u00e9e. Disposer d'une source fiable, contr\u00f4lable et sur site rend cette intervention coh\u00e9rente plut\u00f4t que d\u00e9pendante de la disponibilit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau ou des horaires des camions-citernes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un mod\u00e8le \u00e9prouv\u00e9 pour les producteurs envisageant une production de CO\u2082 sur site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le projet DES d\u00e9montre ce qu'il est possible d'accomplir lorsque des producteurs associent une source de chaleur \u00e0 biomasse \u00e0 la technologie de captage du CO\u2082 Galloxol\u00ae.
