Op 7 november 2025 heeft ons Galloxol\u00ae-systeem 1,8 ton CO\u2082 per uur afgevangen uit rookgassen van biomassa \u2013 en de ketel draaide nog niet eens op volle capaciteit. De Oostenrijkse tomatenteler kan nu zijn eigen CO\u2082 ter plaatse produceren, zonder afhankelijk te zijn van externe levering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dit is de eerste installatie van GGL in Oostenrijk en opnieuw een bewijs van de haalbaarheid van CO\u2082-afvang op locatie in de Europese glastuinbouw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Van biomassa-rookgas naar groenhuizendioxide \u2014 inclusief warmteterugwinning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Merschl Gartenbau teelt het hele jaar door tomaten in Wenen. Tot voor kort was het bedrijf afhankelijk van extern aangevoerde CO\u2082 \u2014 een product dat zowel duurder als minder betrouwbaar wordt. Nu vangt het Galloxol\u00ae-systeem CO\u2082 rechtstreeks op uit de rookgassen van de biomassaketel, zuivert het en maakt het beschikbaar voor CO\u2082-verrijking in de kas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daarnaast heeft GGL een warmteterugwinningssysteem in de installatie ge\u00efntegreerd. Hierdoor wordt restwarmte uit de rookgassen \u2014 die anders verloren zou gaan \u2014 nu ter plaatse hergebruikt. Dit betekent dat het systeem tegelijkertijd de uitstoot vermindert, de afhankelijkheid van externe CO\u2082 wegneemt en de energiekosten verlaagt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Galloxol\u00ae: waarom het veiliger is dan op amine gebaseerde CO\u2082-afvang<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Galloxol\u00ae-technologie die de kern van dit project vormt, is speciaal ontworpen om conventionele op amine gebaseerde afvangsystemen te verbeteren. Algemeen directeur Laleh Hosseini legt uit: \u201cGalloxol\u00ae is veiliger, milieuvriendelijker en kosteneffectiever dan traditionele alternatieven. Omdat het oplosmiddel biologisch afbreekbaar is en geen dampdruk heeft, komen er bij het proces geen schadelijke emissies vrij. Dat maakt het bijzonder geschikt voor kassen en agrarische toepassingen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In een kasomgeving is dit direct van belang. De normen voor voedselveiligheid en productkwaliteit zijn strikt. Het feit dat de afgevangen CO\u2082 geen oplosmiddelsporen bevat, geeft telers dan ook meer vertrouwen in wat ze aan hun gewassen toedienen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Geleverd in 54 weken: van contract tot eerste afvangst<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het project verliep snel. Vanaf het moment dat het contract werd getekend, voltooiden GGL de engineering, inkoop, bouw, installatie en inbedrijfstelling in slechts 54 weken. De bouw startte in de lente van 2025 en de eerste succesvolle CO\u2082-afvangtest volgde in november.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laleh Hosseini: \u201cWe zijn trots op ons team en onze partners voor het realiseren hiervan in zo'n kort tijdsbestek. Bovendien laat deze mijlpaal zien dat CO\u2082-afvang zowel duurzaam als commercieel levensvatbaar kan zijn, zelfs op kleinere industri\u00eble schaal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het volledige systeem ligt op schema om tegen eind 2025 CO\u2082 te leveren aan de 8 hectare tomatenkassen van Merschl Gartenbau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Onderdeel van een groeiende Europese referentiebasis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het Wenen-project is de nieuwste toevoeging aan een referentiebasis die inmiddels vijf landen omvat. De Galloxol\u00ae-technologie van GGL is sinds 2019 commercieel in bedrijf, te beginnen bij DES B.V. in Sirjansland, Nederland. Sindsdien zijn er installaties gevolgd bij Wijnen Crops in Egchel (2021), FNXP LNG in Itali\u00eb (2022) en EmsFlower in Duitsland (2022). Elk project heeft extra operationele ervaring opgeleverd en latere leveringen sneller en betrouwbaarder gemaakt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bovendien, naarmate externe industri\u00eble CO\u2082 in heel Europa schaarser en duurder wordt, wordt het financi\u00eble argument voor biogene afvang ter plaatse sterker.
