Acquisition of Frames Renewable Energy Solutions technologies by Green Gas & Liquids B.V.
Green Gas & Liquids (GGL) has completed the acquisition of CO₂ capture and biogas treatment technologies from Plug Power, the company formerly known as Frames Group. This move gives GGL full ownership of a field-proven technology portfolio covering three distinct process areas: CO₂ capture, H₂S removal, and biogas upgrading. It also ensures that every operator and grower who built their system on Frames technology continues to receive the same engineering support, maintenance, and expertise they have always relied on.
This is not a reset. It is a continuation — with the same people, the same technology, and the same commitment to performance.
Three proven technologies, one focused portfolio
The acquired portfolio centres on three proprietary process technologies, each addressing a different step in the gas treatment and carbon capture chain.
Galloxol® — CO₂ capture Galloxol® captures CO₂ from flue gases produced by biomass boilers, CHP units, geothermal plants, and other combustion sources. Unlike conventional amine-based systems, Galloxol® uses a biodegradable, non-toxic solvent with zero vapour pressure. This means no solvent traces enter the atmosphere or the product CO₂ stream — a meaningful advantage for greenhouse operators and food-sector users where product quality and safety standards are strict. The system offers high thermal efficiency through integrated heat recovery, and scales from approximately 0.5 to 5 tonnes per hour in a modular configuration.
Laminol® — H₂S removal Laminol® removes hydrogen sulphide from gas streams ahead of CO₂ capture, liquefaction, or biomethane upgrading. It uses a low-pressure, regenerative scrubbing process with a biodegradable, recirculated fluid. The system delivers a stable, low-ppm outlet with continuous monitoring, and scales with demand while keeping operating costs predictable. For biogas developers and operators who need a reliable, auditable H₂S removal step, Laminol® provides a straightforward and proven solution.
Hybrisol® — Biogas upgrading Hybrisol® upgrades raw biogas to biomethane via reactive absorption. In a single step, it removes CO₂, dries the gas, and co-removes ammonia, volatile organic compounds, and terpenes. Combined with Laminol® for H₂S, Hybrisol® forms a compact, stable treatment train. The modular design allows capacity to grow with demand, and operating costs stay predictable throughout.
Continuity for all existing Frames installations
A core commitment of this acquisition is full service continuity. Every system delivered under the Frames Renewable Energy Solutions or Plug Power name — across the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, and beyond — now falls under GGL’s direct support. This covers maintenance, spare parts, troubleshooting, and engineering services.
The team at GGL includes many of the engineers and specialists who originally designed and commissioned these installations. Consequently, clients do not face a handover to unfamiliar faces. The knowledge base transfers intact.
Built on 25 years of field experience
GGL was founded in 2022, but the expertise behind the company runs much deeper. Frames Group spent more than two decades developing and refining these technologies across hundreds of industrial and horticultural projects. That knowledge — covering process design, project execution, commissioning, and long-term operations — came across in full.
Since 2019, Galloxol® alone has been operating at commercial installations in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and Austria. Furthermore, each project has sharpened the team’s understanding of real operating conditions. New clients benefit directly from that accumulated experience — in shorter engineering timelines, lower delivery risk, and systems that perform as designed from day one.
A focused position in the energy transition
The acquisition positions GGL to serve greenhouse operators, biogas developers, industrial decarbonisation projects, and process engineers across a wide range of sectors. Moreover, the focus remains deliberate. GGL concentrates on the areas where the technology and the team have a genuine, proven track record — CO₂ capture, H₂S removal, and biogas upgrading — rather than spreading across every corner of the energy transition.
The result is a supplier that understands your application in depth, stands behind the technology, and remains present long after commissioning.
Whether you are planning a new CO₂ capture, H₂S removal, or biogas upgrading project — or you need support for an existing Frames installation — we are ready to help.
