Merschl Gartenbau is a 5th generation grower since 1898, operating a 7 ha greenhouse in Vienna in Austria. They grow (cherry) tomatoes on cocos substrate and use CO2 to increase the yield. A biomass boiler supplies heat to the greenhouse and the fluegas of the biomass boiler is routed to the GG&L installation.

Firstly, the temperature of the fluegas is reduced in the quench, which will also eliminate acid components in the gas and any remaining dust particles. The cooled flue gas is fed into the Galloxol CO2 capture unit, which generates a steady stream of pure CO2 gas. After a final step of dehydration, which removes the water, the CO2 is injected into the greenhouse.
